What we do not collect
Trace does not require an account, connect to a developer-operated server, include advertising or cross-app tracking, or allow the developer to collect your personal information, usage activity, location, or device identifiers through the app.
Data stored on your device
Logs, Targets, focus records, categories, notes, reminder settings, and local media you create are stored in the app container. The main app and its widgets use an Apple App Group only to share the local display data required on the same device.
How permissions are used
- Camera: used only when you choose to take and add a photo.
- Photos: used only when you select an image through the system photo picker.
- Notifications: used only for local reminders and focus status notifications you create.
- Files: accessed through the system picker only when you import or export a backup.
You can change permissions at any time in iOS Settings. Features that require a denied permission will remain unavailable.
Backups, exports, and sharing
Content is handed to a system location or third-party app only when you explicitly choose to export, back up, or share it. Trace does not control how those external locations or apps process data; review their privacy policies when appropriate.
Data retention and deletion
Local data remains until you delete content in Trace or uninstall the app. Uninstalling generally deletes the app container. Export a backup before deleting Trace or changing devices if you want to preserve your records.
Apple services
The App Store, TestFlight, and iOS system services may process diagnostic, purchase, or distribution information under Apple’s own terms. Apple controls that processing; it is not data uploaded by Trace to a developer-operated server.
Policy updates and contact
If a future version adds networking, accounts, cloud sync, analytics, or other data processing, this policy will be updated before that version is released.
